CRST Malone Owner Operator Contracting Requirements - Your tractor
Tractor Requirements to contract with CRST Malone Flatbed:

Any age tractor okay as long as it passes a Malone in-house inspection:

Tandem axle - twin screw tractor with sleeper - Each unit will be subject to a thorough inspection before a lease is executed.
45' or 48' flatbed trailer - Pull your trailer or rent one from CRST Malone
Each unit must be equipped with: (or CRST Malone can outfit you)
any combination of lumber tarps that will completely cover and protect a load which is 8' off the deck of the trailer and 48' in length

a top tarp to be used when the side kit is up if running a side kit trailer

a steel tarp

10 bows
8 binders (16,000# test)
10 15’ chains (either 5/16" alloy or 3/8" high test)
15 nylon straps.

All units must be equipped with the proper D.O.T. safety equipment such as: a headache rack (unless you have a bulkhead trailer or are renting a CRST Malone flatbed bulkhead trailer), flares, fuses, #5 dry chemical fire extinguisher, and seatbelts.
Winches are required on all trailers.

CRST Malone Owner Operator Contracting Requirements - The driver (whether you or an employee drives)

MINIMUM 25 years of age - Need 6 months + verifiable OTR Class A CDL experience

Will consider less than 25 years old with 2 years verifiable OTR and 6 months Flatbed experience
OTR is 5 states or more with a tractor and a 45 ft or longer trailer
No DUI in the past 5 yrs - none in commercial vehicle ever

No failed or refused drug tests, or convictions - EVER.

No more than 1 DUI in the past 15 yrs - 2 max in lifetime
No serious moving violations in the past 36 months
No Felonies in the past 10 years - 1 lifetime
No rollovers
Clean work history in the industry
